Root room matters
Crowded roots can make container growing harder to manage. Check reliable variety or seed information for the plant you are growing and choose a container that gives it appropriate room.
Bigger pots hold more moisture
A larger volume of growing mix often changes more slowly than a very small pot. That can make watering more forgiving, although drainage still matters.
Do not forget weight
Large containers become heavy after they are filled and watered. Place them where you want them before filling, especially on balconies or elevated structures where load limits also matter.
